Trigger Warning!: I’ll be talking about my sex life so if you aren’t comfortable with that feel free to keep scrolling! ^^ So today I decided to have some “fun” on my own (if you know what I mean), and I realized why I don’t ever really do it in the first place. I don’t really have a crazy high sex drive or even a normal one, I just become “in the mood” sometimes (maybe like once every two weeks or so if even that?), and I usually put off doing anything about it. I decided to do it today though, and I had stomach pain and just an uncomfortable feeling afterwards. Of course it felt nice while I was doing it, but immediately afterwards I just had stomach pain. I always have this pain after penetration! I read online that it can be because of my constipation and gas (I have IBS), but I wonder if this is really it? I’m not someone who needs to do anything like that to function day to day, so if I need to not do it then that’s fine with me. I just hate that I have pain at all when I do it. :( I feel like everything I do makes me hurt one way or another. Does anyone else have pain after doing it? If you do, have you found ways to keep it from happening?

Once I started probiotics I found I was able to pass much easier. It may be that you are not prepping yourself enough beforehand. A common side effect of antidepressants is issues with libido. It could be that you aren't able to feel the delicacies as much. Perhaps try building yourself up a bit more before going inside. 💕

I don't have pain after doing it with myself, but when my fiancee and I have sex I often have an upset stomach and uneasy bowels afterwards. It also completely wipes me of all energy, even if I wasn't super active during. It's very discouraging and frustrating.

Has your pelvic floor been evaluated?

@100Percent_K no. I have had poor luck with the professionals. Easy for them to say! No offense taken. Allergist came up with reactive arthritis!

Ibs is an inflammatory disorder. Fix you constipation as well as you can by multiple directions and the ibuprofen or weed can help as well

@Lucky_H IBD is inflammatory bowel disease. IBS is irritable bowel syndrome 😅

@100Percent_K thank you for your criticism. My reply is referring to the fact that a condition caused by inflammation can be treated with multiple methods.

Hi! If you’re a person with a uterus or has ever had one, I’d also talk to a gyn. I have endometriosis which makes it extremely painful! I have lots of information about it if you’re interested, I just don’t want to type it all out in case it doesn’t apply to you! Let me know if you want me to provide resources or information!

I have experienced this before and still do sometimes. I grew up religious with a lot of shame around sexuality, and I also have a trauma history. I think this can cause a physical sensation of guilt or shame for me. I also have vaginismus (which always seems to flare up worse when my digestive system has been flaring up for awhile). That could be worth exploring if you want as it may explain the pain with penetration. I went to a pelvic floor PT for awhile and I didn't bring up the stomach pain to them, but it's very possible that could be connected as well

Have you considered talking to your doctor about it? I experienced this myself, and although I have IBS this was due to an inflammation in my uterus at the time. I no longer experience this. Might be worse I try.

I've found that Cannabis works great with IBS as a short term pain reliever. Whenever I know I'm going to be doing something that might agitate my guts, I smoke a bit and it helps lessen/prevent those bursts of pain

@countryfriedcrab ooh okay! I haven’t smoked in a good while so I might have to give it a shot. Thanks!

@Mafuyu It all depends on the strain. I've found that most dispos don't care about a curated stock or proper CBD/THC ratios. You might need to shop around and find what strain or affects work best for you. I've personally found that old school Indicas work the best for pain
