Does anyone else struggle with anxiety and depression and have found a medication that they see results from? I have been taking lexapro for almost 2 years and I am thinking that I might be better off taking something else. Let me know your thoughts!

I recommend taking a test called GeneSight. you mail them a sample of your dna (qtip mouth swab) and they give you a list of medicines most likely to be effective based on your dna. it worked really well for me.

I'm on 20 MG of Prozac for depression and just increased to 150 MG of lamoTRIgine for anxiety (trial - I was 100 MG). They have really leveled me out and I have become a whole new person with the two working together. I recommend a psychiatrist/internal medicine doctor who is able to strictly work medication rather than a normal doctor who just prescribes based off of studies, feedback and results. The psych/internal medicine know how each pill works separately and in conjunction with another.

I’ve been on Zoloft (sertraline) for 8 years now and I find it works very well for me!

lexapro is amazing for my anxiety, but wellbutrin gets me out of bed and motivated. i highly recommend it

A combination of prozac and buspirone has really helped me. I’ve tried almost all the antidepressants and once I was on Prozac, I finally started feeling like my original, goofy self.

I was on lexapro for a long time and it helped with my suicidal tendencies but did nothing for my physical shakes and anxiety. My body would still be in high alert even if my brain wasn’t. Now I’ve added on buspar and so far it’s been working great with me. I would talk to your psychologist and see what they recommend. Be honest with them and let them know that you don’t think it’s enough/working for you

Using Lexapro and welbutrin has worked really well for me, my psych described it as "Lexapro makes your brain make serotonin, welbutrin makes your brain accept it". I also take hydroxyzine and Buspirone for anxiety

Lex Apel worked well for me until I maxed the dosage limit. I am now on many meds including Wellbutrin and lamictal.

It works subtly in the background to help but it’s not immediately felt

      Buspar is not really noticeable

I recommend Zoloft. Busphar and lexapro didn’t work for me.

I recently upped my dosage to 30mg lexapro and it’s been such a game changer for the better. Sometimes people need more to have it work for them. Talk to your Doctor and maybe they will help give you some suggestions.
