Had a colonoscopy last Thursday , they found 10 Polyps he said that was a lot for someone my age. Should I be worried? Also I have been having pain in my gut even after 5 days I’m trying to hold out until Thursday when I go back . Anyone else experience anything like this?

@Babygirl123 - you’re very welcome. I hope it helped! Let me know what they say! If I find out something I think may be helpful to you when I see a doctor, I’ll share it with you.

@Prowler my polyps were between 5 and 8 mm. And I will definitely be asking a lot of questions! Thanks for the reply!

Make sure they have biopsied the polyps to tell you if they are pre-cancerous or not. I had a colonoscopy last year and in just one section of my colon they found a bunch of polyps that were pre-cancerous. As a result, I now have to get a colonoscopy every year to check for cancerous polyps. They also wanted me to see a geneticist. I think this is more common in an older population- or perhaps even hereditary. I don’t have any known family members with multiple polyps or cancer in this region. I’d make sure your doctor answers all your questions. Maybe ask if there is something that can contribute to this. They only told me my results on the phone and they never gave me a chance to talk to someone I was never told any dietary precautions after having a multitude of polyps removed- so I assumed there were none. I wish I had called and asked someone because this region has hurt ever since and I am always bloated now. They also told me I had gastritis, but offered no recommendations, or treatments. I also had my gallbladder out probably a year before this timeframe. I’m due for a colonoscopy again, but I’m also going to find a doctor that can discuss my findings and give me some recommendations. I need to follow up on the geneticist- but all this was during Covid and the geneticist is 5 hours away. I don’t know if you could have some inflammation from where they removed the polyps, I don’t know how big yours were. I also don’t know what other conditions you have. I was worried about discomfort and if I needed to be doing something for where they removed the polyps. I also did have inflammation they saw and I had more than 10 polyps. This area didn’t clear for me and I had to do a second prep process with a different prep and return the next day. Also, worrying for a week may contribute to your discomfort by increasing acid secretions, or muscle contractions- etc. etc. Definitely ask about all your concerns!
