Does anyone else struggle with feeling validated in their symptoms? I often feel like my symptoms aren’t truly real narcolepsy since I’m not literally collapsing into sleep mid-conversation and I should tough it out like everyone else. I know they are real; I have been diagnosed by a professional and I’m literally on medication to treat it. It probably stems from confidence issues, but I was wondering if anyone relates.

I've been struggling with this for a long time! It really didn't help that when I first had symptoms my doctor kept insisting it was 'probably a psychiatric issue', and my family wasn't very supportive either. It wasn't until I nearly got fired from my job that I realized my symptoms were very much real, and I finally sought help from a new PCP since the first one was clearly not going to help me.

THAT IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL!! I feel like if I just tried harder I would be able to be awake more and do more work. Every time I accomplish something I feel like I should be able to have those types of successes always if I just wake up more.
