I feel like all i’m able to do is cope. Which isn’t nothing, better than being hopeless, but I don’t want to be in this spot forever. How can I work towards thriving?

Of course once you get to the root cause of an issue and learn to heal from it you’ll move forward. It’s hard in this in between phase for sure! Maybe it would help if you write down some smaller and larger future goals you want to accomplish and steps you can take to get to them. That might help you have some positive things to think of for your future rather than constantly distracting from the past.
