does anyone have other ways to ease asthma symptoms caused by seasonal allergies? i've been taking my allergy medication and albuterol daily, but with the high pollen counts my sleep has started to suffer too.

I started eating raw, local honey. It helped after a few months.

*that should read "under control" not under co trip š

I take both singular and Zyrtec. There are days though where I will take two Zyrtec. Are you on a preventative medication like advair? When the pollen counts are high I also shower at night too. It helps me to sleep better.

VAPORUB STEAM. My dad just showed me this. Take a small amount of vaoprub and plop into a large bowl. Boil some water and add it to the bowl. Put a towel over your head and breathe it through your mouth and nose. You will cough a little but thatās the mucus loosening.

Breathing excercised deffinately help a lot. I also use dulera every morning and evening, as well always carrying a rescue inhaler.

Things i use in addition to meds are a nasal dilator, salinator (with Himalayan salt), local raw honey, nettie pot, essential oils (for me lavender, eucalyptus, and mints help), and breathing exercises. And last year I didn't have any issues, I think it was the mask mandates so I was just not exposed to as much pollen.
I have been using for my asthma. Ipratropium Bromide And Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation solution. With my nebulizer And its helped me to breathe better throughout the day and evenings.
A little mint lip balm rubbed under the nose. It helps open the nasal passages, and it smells nice
Depending on what type of allergy meds you take, maybe adding another would help? I used to just use Zyrtec as my only allergy pill (on top of eye drops and inhaler etc) and adding Allegra has really helped me. I take Zyrtec at night and Allegra in the morning
@Jangel i alternate between those two as well! when one stops working, i switch to the other
@hushabye exactly! I usually take one at night and one in the morning, sometimes I switch to another tho. I also just added singulair
People will probably tell you local honey. I've had folks tell me also to get an air defuser with lemon oil or some fruit oil. Drinking hot water before bed time (with tea if prefered) helps open up nasal passages.
additional notes: i work outside in a garden center (not smart, i know) 5 days a week for around 9 hours daily. also, i live in the us (northeast, specifically nj)
@hushabye I was guessing you lived in NJ because I do too and the allergies right now are so bad. My asthma was under co trip until this spring. This dry asthmatic cough with the allergies are killing me. Along with my inhaler, zyrtec and flonase, I find Nyquil works well to help me sleep.
