Does anyone get night anxiety? I have a really hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. My mind is always going and sometimes I am afraid to fall asleep. I’m always afraid something bad will happen to me. My heart pounds when I try to relax. It’s so hard to get a good night sleep these days.

right before i go to bed, i personally write down or type in notes on my phone (but paper is better so that you don’t get distracted by notifications) anything that i know i have to do and things i want to do/ideas that are running through my head so that i can consciously set those thoughts aside and not worry about forgetting them (which also is part of why i feel like i have to do everything BEFORE i sleep)… but tbh i’ve been able to fall asleep way faster & get more peaceful uninterrupted rest when i don’t have those things running through my head and put them on hold until the next day 😊

If you are looking for an emergency med to get you in the right direction; trazadone helped me until I chose to stop since my body naturally got back into its “sleep rhythm” Naturally, meditation has helped me IMMENSELY. Even if I don’t meditate during the day (which is recommended obvi for full benefits) but at night I’ll put a guided meditation to help me “wind down” and then a “sleep story” to keep my mind busy/bored enough I fall asleep.

You could try a mild sleep aid like melatonin

Same happens to me, what helps me is taking a shower, chamomile tea and white noise! And if that doesn’t works for a reason I talk to my self to calm me down and lately I read, I just got a few books and I just read them to distract me. 🙌
Ask your doctor about propanolol. My doc just gave that to me to take to stop the physical symptoms of anxiety and I take it at night to help with getting calmed down to sleep. It’s a beta blocker, so no risk of dependency or addiction. It just lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart down enough so your body can relax.
Journal out all of your thoughts before bed! Then take some cbd oil and drink some tea. This normally helps to crank it down a bit
definitely it always gives me anxiety to go to bed. something that might help is if you’re on meds ask your doc for two doses one take at your usual time and one before bed
I do! Hydroxyzine has been a life-saver when it gets really bad. A high-quality frankincense oil has helped in the past too.
I experience this frequently! Sometimes for me, it helps to meditate and journal about my emotions, thoughts, etc. that I’m experiencing before bed. This way I can get them out of my system but also address them before I get to bed. Best of luck!! ❤️
Hmmm... 🤔 Honestly mine was bad enough I was practically forced to work night shift. BUT, For a While I Working out till stiff-sore with intense workouts + prescription meds + Full Stomach (I would try and sync up with meds for med + Full stomach nap attack combo) + Calm Quiet music before bed every once and a while (this one is a rare occasion honestly). I would recommend more... Buuuuut, I'm honestly a Paradoxical human being and I don't wanna suggest something that will accidentally make it worse XD
The best way I try to unwind and let my mind relax is listening to some calming or watching something calming. For me when I get like that it’s usually because I’m stressing myself or something is stressing me out so much I can’t sleep.
I do. My mind races. My heart feels like it’s gonna pump out of my chest so I take deep breath’s. I also take meds for my heart too. Try sleepy time chamomile tea, it helps. Download apps like, I like rain drops because it soothes me. Stuff like that.
I also have night anxiety. As soon as the sun starts to set it starts with me. Sometimes I can breathe and relax but sometimes it’s a battle all night long.

Messymexi that can be so frightening. I’m sorry that happens to you too.
Ive been on venlafaxine for a few years for anxiety and depression symptoms. But it doesn’t help me with the sleep issues. I have a prescription for lorazepam but I don’t like to take it that often, because it’s just for emergencies when I’m having really bad anxiety. I just wish there was something that would help me calm down and get a good night sleep.
I have night anxiety! I use meds and a weighted blanket to help. I also do bed yoga when I need to get out of my head so I can focus simply on the poses and music.
When I was a teenager I overdosed on my own prescription sleep pills, I swear I felt my heart stop at one point. I take Seroquel now and when it hits me really hard I feel what you described and it feels like my heart is slowing down. Then it's like a panic attack all night trying to make sure I don't die
I have definitely experienced this. Are you getting any kind of treatment? I ended up having to go on meds to help with the racing heart. That’s not to say that will be your solution, but talking to someone can help you figure out what to do.
