I’m staring an extremely rigorous school program and it’s an hour drive to and from the school every day. My seizures are triggered by lack of sleep and I have severe anxiety that can keep me up at night. I have to wake up around 4 or 5am every day and go to bed at around 6pm every night. I’m so scared that I’m going to have a seizure, because when am I supposed to study? Especially since I’m going to be on the interstate for two hours per day IF a wreck or 5pm traffic doesn’t stop me. And there’s always road work going on too. I’m just so nervous and I don’t think I can make it through the program. I feel so guilty about having seizures and I cry when I think about me possibly having one again. I just don’t see how I’m going to make good grades and get enough sleep. I already take 10mg of melatonin. Any advice?

I’m a grad student so I understand the anxiety of wanting/needing to make good grades but you have time. I switched to the online program and that helped a lot also talk to your professor. Tell him/her the situation. As long as they see you trying they’ll accommodate

The safest route would be to car pool with a fellow student, see if you can do some of your classes online or you can get ahold of disability services/teachers and get the material you need to study read to you so you could listen while driving. Get a camcorder to record classes that way you can replay them.
