I tested positive for COVID on 12/26/2021. My first symptom was on xmas eve 12/24/2021. I had terrible congestion, headaches, cough, sinusitis, and sore throat. My symptoms are all gone, except that now I am experiencing chest pain underneath my boobs and occasionally in the middle of my chest. Anyone else get this type of chest pain after COVID? It doesn’t help that I have pretty bad anxiety and panic attacks.

@Kristine don’t be a scared it’s costochondritis. ! It’s only an inflammation of the chest cavity! So none of your organs are affected! I had the same exact symptoms as you, when I caught COVID at the end of January/February! This stupid virus is very inflammatory, it will ride itself through your body! It’s okay you will be okay! Just ride it out and yes anxiety/stress will heighten it. My doc said it’s just the inflammation in the body. You will recover , just rest, meditate, journal, do the fun things you used to do! You will be okay! Feel better.

I also have occasional chest pain and lingering shortness of breath. My doctor told me that healing comes in waves with this virus 💕 just remember you are not alone and inflammation is a part of the healing process with this virus. Panic and anxiety definitely amplify symptoms. Definitely get checked if you feel worse over time. 🙌

i got 3 pfizer shots, i got my booster at the same time i got covid bc i didnt know… i had horrible symptoms, worst headache of my life- for days! and the same as you, congestion, sinus etc. my chest pain is not too bad but i find that it feels worse if i get nervous or anxious, i just try to relax, but if your pain is bad i would consult a doctor, i read that the moderna vax causes chest pain on young adults, so i would check with a doctor just in case, they may be able to help with the pain or figure out what’s really causing it, hope this helps

Hi Peggy thank you so much for replying to me I appreciate it! So you got the chest pain about 2 or 3 weeks ish too? What do you usually do to relieve it? I am vaccinated with moderna. I havent gotten the booster though. I thought I was doing well after my cough went away, but now my thoracic cavity seems to be traumatized.

yes! i started feeling those at about the same time you have, it helps to calm down because the anxiety will make anything worse, but it wouldn’t hurt to see a doctor if these symptoms worry you, are you vaccinated?
