hey so my astma has been getting worse. currently on a rescue Albuterol inhaler but nothing else. have had to go to the ER twice to get a nebulizer treatment done in the last 3 months. I'm seeing my Dr about it at the end of the month but would like to ask here to have an idea of a solution possibly.

Definitely go to a pulmonologist. Sounds like you need some kind of preventative medication to help with the frequency of asthma attacks. Getting an at home nebulizer has also been a lifesaver. No longer needing to go to the ER for those is great.

I would suggest a portable nebulizer at home and liquid albuterol solution for that, so when you're having an asthma attack at home, you always have one handy. When I was very little my insurance paid for my nebulizer and it still works to this day, and I just turned 22! I also used Dulera on top of my regular albuterol twice a day (one dose in the morning and one at night), and it helped me dramatically. Take care and good luck!!

Yes, I recommend getting a nebulizer for yourself. I had been to the ER at least 5 times in the last year for the exact same thing and finally I found a doctor that sent me home with one and I haven't been back to the ER since.

Ugh...so sorry for you. šŸ„“ Sounds like you may benefit from daily maintenance / preventative. šŸ¤” I am on both a preventative and daily maintenance...I rarely use a rescue. šŸ„°

Albuterol rescue is just that, for rescue. Sounds like you may need something for maintenance like Flo Vent etc.

Sorry to hear that!! My dr. Put me on singulair and it helps...one pill before bed every night helps keep my airways open 24 hours

That happened to me too, I ended up going to emergency room because my nebulizer machine wasnā€™t working. My pulmonologist ended up having to put me on daily corticosteroid to control it since it had became more severe. Once you start taking it youā€™ll fee much better. You wonā€™t barely ever use your inhaler anymore. But again I would make an appointment as soon as you can with your pulmonologist.

Are you on a daily inhaler? If not you might want to look into that if your asthma is getting worse.

I have a portable nebulizer I bought off Amazon and they are much cheaper than ones you get from doctor so thereā€™s that.. Iā€™ve also been prescribed a inhaled steroid that I start to take whenever I get bad.. typically when the seasons change.. good luck! I know thatā€™s no fun :(
