Skai

Hi there! This is my first time ever trying something like this. My name is Skai and I decided to get this to talk to people.with similar conditions. My endometriosis has been pretty bad lately, and I'd been told there wasn't much to do for treatment but I am currently taking birth control so my period is only every 3 months. Is there anything else I can do for when I have to endure my period and is there anything I can do to stop or slow the spread?

What 2 medications work for endometriosis? Pls tell. How long does a Mirena IUD stay on?

I take norethindrone acetate, I have for three years. It's worked wonders for my pain and it stopped my period, so endometrial growth has also slowed a LOT. I still have some pain and I'm definitely due for another surgery, but I would definitely be much worse off without it

I'd look into a Mirena IUD, it's the only approved treatment for Endo other than a hysterectomy. I don't know all that much about other treatment options because my Mirena works so well I don't need to worry about it almost at all

There are 2 medications that I know of that can treat endometriosis. I am going to be starting mine on Monday. Hopefully it works.

I think there is a surgery for endometriosis. I know surgery is scary but it might be the only thing that will help in the long run!😊

Hi! ✋ I was told that even without a period, endometriosis will continue to spread. Stopping your period is just to help with the pain and other issues that come with endometriosis. I went without one for years until an insurance issue caused me to go a month without my birth control and now I have a period every two to three weeks because my cycle is all screwed up. If it affects your fertility, you can have surgery to “clean up” your fallopian tubes and other reproductive organs until you can conceive, but scar tissue and endometriosis will grow back eventually.
