Does anyone ever go through phases of depression after prolonged severe symptoms of anxiety? In my specific case, health anxiety and obsessive fears of dying. Along with ocd compulsions… I just feel like I’m so sick and tired of always being scared and always thinking I’m dying. It’s mentally exhausting and I feel worthless because why am I like this?

Yes. I can relate to you. I also struggle with severe death and health anxiety. It is exhausting. Breathing for 15 minutes a day helps some. I also try to distract myself. I know it’s a struggle. Hang in there. Are you in therapy. I have found therapy to be an effective tool as there are typically underlying reasons for death/illness anxiety. I’m 53 and recall worrying about my parents dying at age 5

Constantly exhausted from running marathons in my mind all night, then attempting to be a productive member of my community during the day. Its a vicious cycle. BUT with tragedy comes comedy. So change the word 'tragedy' to 'anxiety' and try to find the funny in the little things, it helps a little. 💕

Yeah me too. And then I have existential crises. I struggle all the time with purpose and feel like everything is pointless. So I get you, in my own way. But it’ll be okay.

Depression and anxiety both tag team me all the time too. Anxiety is so exhausting that when it relents it’s probably all the easier for the funk of depression to weigh me down.

I suffer from intermittent severe depression and chronic anxiety. For me, some of it is situational. However, I believe some of it is genetic. I don’t have any answers for you, but I hope we both get the answers we’re looking for.

Right here yo✋ And it sucks cause for me it kicks in tenfold when im having a good day, i cant enjoy myself at all cause what if something happens? That would just make it more painful. Therapy, meditation and questioning my OCD have been what has helped me the most. I hope you find something that helps you❤️
