How do you guys feel about words of encouragement like "you're not alone" and "you'll get through", etc. coming from complete strangers, especially in online settings? I can't help but find them tasteless and empty. It's like... yes, I just went thru a shitty event of X, and yeah it totally sucks, but hearing from a random person that "you're not alone" doesn't help one bit. Yes I'm alone. Of course I'm alone. I've always been alone and that's why it sucks so much. The words always feel so hollow to me unless they're coming from someone who actually knows what's going on IRL. idk. Thoughts?

It makes me feel angry tbh, I don't show that I'm mad because they mean well but I feel like they are just shallow words that speak " i dont know how to respond so im just gonna say what everyone else says" idk why it makes me mad

I understand that. When I have been crying alot and my family does not seem to care. To me what goes through my head is that someone that does not know me actually toke the time to read my post and toke time to say something. It feels good to me. That is my opinion though.
