sooo ive relapsed back into my ocd. i can not get the intrusive thoughts out of my head. exposure is scaring me too much. i keep getting the thoughts like “i’m going into psychosis and i’m losing touch with reality” “i’m gonna go insane and i’m gonna kill everyone i love including myself”. like it fills me with fear and doubt about my true intentions and character. anyone else struggle with this? i’ve had ocd and thoughts like this since the the second grade. THE SECOND GRADE. i’m 19 and a freshman in college now. i don’t understand why i still struggle to this day with ocd. the themes always change too. i’ve gone to therapy and been on meds. i feel like i’m always gonna relapse. i want to recover fully. any thoughts, tips, concerns, etc. i get urges and sensations too it’s so scary. what if i’m actually a bad person. i feel like one.

I spent HOURS every day terrified and checking... It truly took over my life very suddenly. I was so scared I was going to lose control and get hallucinations & delusional. Even though I knew it was ridiculous. Now that I'm better, I realize how silly my fears were, even though they were very real & scary to me. Even if I did have psychosis at some point, it would not be the end of the world. I don't have the thoughts about it as much but when I do they don't really terrify me, and they certainly don't take over my life anymore

I had the same thoughts and feared I had a psychotic disorder & started questioning everything I did and checking the dumbest things on the internet. Within 2 weeks of high dose Zoloft, it resolved itself.

I can relate to this. I have been doing ritualistic behaviors my whole life. I’m currently a 19 yr old freshman in college too and my OCD is the worst it has ever been. I’m guessing we may be experiencing this because we just started college and with this new beginning comes so much uncertainty? I just want to get better so badly.

heyy I was diagnosed w ocd in 1st grade lol and I’m also 19 now. I struggle the exact same way you described. It’s so scary and it makes you lose all hope in your sanity and character. I honestly don’t know what to do either. I know it’s a depressing life to live, but you’re not alone. I’m here if you’d like to talk more about it.

i know this is easier said than done but i suggest ignoring the thoughts completely. if you don’t acknowledge them then you don’t give them the chance to worsen.

I have struggled with OCD for my entire life but was just officially diagnosed a few years ago. One thing that has helped with intrusive thoughts is a “thought record”. You can google them and there are many different kinds. My therapist gave me a few and they have made a world of difference.

thank y’all so much. it means the world.
Hey! It’s extremely hard to do but please resist any type of compulsions. If I could go back and change what I did when my ocd flared is to not engage. Let the uncertainty be there as impossible as it may seem. You got this!

I have the same thoughts everyday. It’s debilitating. The thing that has helped me the most is knowing that your able to recognize your feelings means your NOT going to go crazy.
I’m also starting in Prozac
I’m the same Just have in mind that if u fear your thoughts it’s because u don’t wanna do it , my intrusive thoughts started over a bad trip with thc , it’s hard to do it now but have always in mind ur not ur thoughts, they’ll go away when u stop fearing them
