Hi! I've been diagnosed with PCOS but can't help but think it could be something else. I have irregular periods (worse symptom) and have experienced rapid weight gain and facial hair which led to the PCOS diagnosis. Do you know what other disorders look like this that aren't PCOS?

I have Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, which have some overlapping symptoms with PCOS. This is actually one of the reasons it took me a while to get diagnosed with PCOS.

I have concerns for myself for endometriosis. It often coincides with PCOS. I’ve found Nancy Nooks Endo group and website to be best for self education and advocacy but the path is difficult. ❤️
I’m not sure, but this definitely sounds like PCOS. To rule out any other diagnoses, discuss with your doctor if you can get an MRI scan of your pituitary to make sure there isn’t a tumor of some sort that is causing a hormonal imbalance. Also it would be a good idea to schedule a pelvic ultrasound to confirm the presence of cysts in the ovaries
