so, i have a girlfriend and we've been together on and off for almost 2 years, and im not sure why I do this, but i most of the time don't respond to her messages even though I see the notifications from her. I love talking to her and she's my favorite person but recently I find myself lying to her that I'm busy because i don't want to call. i know it makes her upset but i can't stop. i don't know why i do this or why i can't stop but i just can't.

A symptom of Neuro-divergence can be the need for space in a relationship. Often ND relationships will go through natural mountains and valleys of closeness and distance. It doesn't mean you don't love your partner, but it could mean that your relationship styles aren't compatible. Instead of lying to her try being honest about how you're feeling and see if it's something she can accept or not.

@Pashion the thing with that is that that's impossible to explain to ANYONE without horrendously hurting their feelings. It's not something you can be honest about.
