I recently started snapping my wrists with a hair tie. Is this a form of self harm? I also have sudden, repetitive urges to pull out my own hair. Do I need help?

@Beatlover do you have a therapist or are you able to get one?

it could be a form of self harm if you are doing it to feel the pain and if it is causing actual damage. if it just stings a bit or you do it to stop self harm urges then it is completely normal. when you have feelings to rip out your hair try to do something different and distract yourself. if that doesn’t work overtime than please see a doctor or therapist
How do I find someone I can trust, though? I don't trust people, and I don't let anyone get close. Yet, I have a feeling things may get worse if I keep things to myself longer...
I would tell someone you trust about this or reach out if you can, especially for the hair pulling. don’t worry, you’re not alone and it’s not uncommon but it’s always best to reach out even if it doesn’t feel like a massive problem yet, as well as if it does
