I’ve been having some really weird pains in my ribs lately. It’s not heart palpitations, I’m really familiar with those as this point. I think it might be my ribs popping out of place, but there’s never much of a visual displacement. It just feels like something is out of place and pressing against my heart/lungs. It tends to happen if I take too deep of a breath or laugh too hard. Anyone know what this is?
Mine do it all the time. It does feel like you're being poked in the lungs or ❤️. I usually try compression first. If that doesn't work then heat followed up with gentle into deep stretching to get it back into place.
did this start after physical trauma to your ribs? whether it was a broken/bruised rib or something as simple as a nasty bout of bronchitis, that trauma may have irritated the surrounding cartilage and caused costochondritis
i can’t really think of anything that could’ve happened. i just remember being at work and taking a deep breath and dropping to the floor clutching my side.
the deep breath honestly could've been enough. I've had a similar issue ever since a paramedic did a sternal rub (something they're NOT supposed to do anymore because of people like me), but I also had the same thing after every single asthma attack or bout of bronchitis. I guess track your symptoms and see if the pain lines up with any particular action and take your findings to your doctor
Mine happened during pregnancy with my first. Her little feet used to get in my chest. I have to watch what side I flip over to because my ribs seem sensitive still. My tummy is growing the second time around ,so I understand why sleeping is uncomfortable.
