Numbness and dissociation is a common response to the mind/body experiencing more stress than manageable. When I get into numb states I combat it with silliness and reminding myself of the absurdity of everything. It makes stress seem really small in comparison to the fact that the universe is 13.7 billion years old, and I’m worrying about a messy kitchen. Maybe even get yourself to do something really weird, so wild that you’ll snap yourself out of a dissociated state and just laugh! Laughter releases endorphins, the pain relievers!! The best medicine!!
