hey! I was wondering if anyone utilizes a "life uniform" type wardrobe (where you wear the same types of things most days). If you do, I'd love to hear about it, and whether you like it, how it helps, or what you don't like about it! I'd also love to hear about what items you have in your wardrobe! especially if they're sensory friendly, more masculine-ish and plus size. I'm hoping to start collecting and establishing a "life uniform" for most of my wardrobe to make life easier. tyia!!

If you wanna be fancy, you can call it a capsule wardrobe 🤭 Universal Standard has “womens” clothing in a wide range of sizes w no upcharge for “plus,” they don’t even separate the “straight sizes.” Every item comes in size 00-30. For basics, staples that will work with multiple outfits, they might be helpful for you :) they even sell preset capsules!

I frequently just wear a pair of some kind of athletic shorts, boxers, sleep pants, or favourite jeans w suspenders instead of a belt paired with either a tank top, Tshirt, hoodie, or a t shirt layered on top of a long sleeve shirt depending on weather and if I'm leaving my house because they are comfortable and for most it's not impossible to find bigger sizes. My Not So Every Day looks are also pretty simple always the same for more formal stuff I use a nice pair of jeans or slacks if I have them, suspenders, and a simple button up. I have a few soft crop tops and a pair of short alls when I feel like being fruity. When it's cold or my hair sucks i wear beanies, but that's the only hat I can stand long term.

One question: what is a "life uniform"? Are you referring to style, what you wear regularly or are you talking about one of those weighted life jackets or those weighted blankets?

@Redvelninja I wear what I wear almost every day. When I'm at home I usually wear a Tshirt though, to get ready for bed. I'm not sleeping in my nice clothes lol

I really like floral shirts (button up shirts), dress shirts, and dress pants that's almost all I wear

Joggers joggers joggers. I cannot wear jeans to save my life, i swear joggers make my life so much easier. I always find i wear a jacket all year long, its lightweight but can also help if im cold. It makes me feel better about myself, as my arms arent showing. I have a lot of fat in my arms that ive always gotten made fun of for - so

thank you so much! I can't wear jeans, so finding pants can be really hard for me. I want some nicer pants that aren't just pj's or leggings. I'll have to find some soft joggers!!

crewneck/ pull over sweatshirts. All of the comfort and gender ambiguity of a hoodie but gives the illusion of being a bit more put together. Even tho im fem presenting now i still love them bc the slight variations in fit and cut means they work in a range of "wanting to be a formless blob or not". h&m mens had some great stuff. My uniform in middle school was jeans + graphic tee plus flannel or zip hoodie, in HS it was all pull-over hoodies but now im back to zip hoodies and other easily removable jackets for easier temp regulation. Im trying to wear more fun clothes that make me feel attractive, so my current go to is small shirt + big pant + removable outer layer. I love me a big shirt moment tho something about being a formless blob is so fun regardless of how the male gaze gets to me. Also NO WAISTBANDS ON THE TUMMY. i cannot do elastic digging into my waist, so ive been wearing big pants that i can hang on my hips, and the occasional high waisted jean that either goes above ny waist or doesnt dig into it. Also cargo shorts paired with a sligtly oversized t-shirt over a button down. If i did it right it was kinda fashionable in a soft butch way, but i feel like theres ways u can make cargo shorts work with modern fashion sensibilites, they are so practical and so Boy ™ theyre worth giving a try. i miss having that many pockets so i wear a jacket with lots of big ones lol.

@chihiro.sen oh also the way i do/did all my variations of "life uniforms" was neutral/versatile pants and different tops where i could do whatever fun patters, colors or graphics on top and wear them with almost any of my pants. Usually jeans or sweatpants (thank god for whoever decided to make joggers fashionable) Khaki is also a good neutral, and i got a pair of brown corduroy pants i love too.
