it seems like everyone has a friend group they hang out with all summer, but i spend my summers mostly alone. i stopped using instagram because seeing everyone posting themselves having friends and lovers ruins my day. i still feel lonely, but it's so hard to talk to new people and keep conversations going.

Try to remember that people present themselves in social media how they want to be perceived. All that glitters isn’t gold. I also have a very hard time talking to new people so I definitely feel how that can be very overwhelming. Try to find a person who feels nice/safe and see if you can’t find something in common and build a friendship from there. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you’re doing well

I have friends but I barely hang out with them so I feel you in a sense
