I just started Cimzia and was wondering what path others went on to end up on it. I started with just hydroxychloroquine, then added methotrexate (which I didn't tolerate and had to stop), then I was on humira (which just suddenly stopped working), now I'm on cimzia.
I am also interested to know about the way of others with their treatment. I'm still in the early stage, I'm just taking prednisone, so I'm curious about my future.
Humira was easy. Not painful, no side effects at all. It's a pen that you press against your stomach so you don't actually have to insert a needle or anything. Just push a button and it does it for you.
I'm on cimzia now and it's a little more daunting as you have to actually stick yourself with the needles. I did experience some swelling and redness around the injection sites on my first loading dose. I do two more shots tomorrow so we'll see how it goes.
