having ADHD in a classroom, or at work, these traits can look like laziness or an inability to learn. As a child, I was often described by teachers as “stubborn and moody;” a “daydreamer”. As an adult that morphed into another common theme—not performing up to my potential. These views people have about me has greatly decreased my self-worth and I'm not sure what to do :[

First things first, those people are idiots. I know it's hard not to listen to others when they insist on speaking so loudly. I think many of us have ended up on the same journey of internal healing you're on because of similar experiences. But keep in mind, we should never be defined by those around us who choose not to develop awareness and understanding of human experiences different from their own. It makes it much easier to let go of and discard people's false judgements and toxicity when you realize they truly lack the empathic ability to imagine the world through any lense other than their own. I hope that helps you take a moment to embrace your experience of the world and reflect on the people that caused you this pain with a new perspective. Why hold onto what one person says the see in you, when you realize they were blind all along?

Some people will never understand what is is like to live with a learning or mental issue. So you have to take care of yourself and as long as long as you are taking care of yourself and trying your best that is all you can do. You will always have someone who won't understand and that makes it hard. But you aren't alone.

I've had the same problem my teachers always gave up on me because they saw me as unteachable "that's a real confidence booster right there" I only had 3 teachers who actually believed I could do it, finally I was separated from those teachers who were seeing me in a negative light and put online for my classes I was finally able to focus and get my work done without any negative thoughts haunting me

I had these problems growing up too, I was medicated and still was a "problem" child. I don't think very many teachers know the right way to handle these kinds of situations. I have some stories that are a bit long to share in a comment but somehow I managed through all of them.
