Saw my epileptologist today, and he wants me to switch from Trileptal to Vimpat due to the sodium problems I’ve recently had from the Trileptal. I ended up in the ER a month ago thanks to low blood sodium. So I’m glad in that regard. He wants to slowly wean me off the Trileptal and onto the Vimpat over about a month. What sucks is that he wants me to stay with my mom and stepdad for 2-4 weeks during the transition. I do get why—something might happen. But I don’t know how long I can stay sane staying with my mom. I value privacy. She doesn’t. She’s going to want me to keep my bedroom door open 24/7 so she can check on me every ten minutes with an “Are you okay, buddy?” 😣 Not to mention working from home will be a challenge. I think I can do two weeks as long as I have plenty of time to mentally prepare for it, but four weeks? I don’t think I can do that. Not to mention I can’t drive, so there’s no way to really get away. I won’t really be able to watch what I want on TV, cook/eat what I want, sing at home, etc. It’s going to be a real test of my patience. But at least this Vimpat will hopefully work and fix my sodium problem…
