Hello fellow MS warriors! I am talking with my doctors about starting the drug Amantadine for my severe MS fatigue. I currently take Modafinil as needed, but it's just not doing the trick. I really cannot get through a day because my fatigue stops me. Does anyone have experience with Amantadine for fatigue? I'd love any stories or advice anyone could share with me. Thanks! ♥️

My nuero just put me on Amantadine 2 a day. It seems to be working okay as long as I keep moving. When I sit for too long I still doze off. I'm gonna keep taking it, keep being active, and hope for the best. 👍

I actually just started Modafinil. Did it work for you better at the beginning? I've been on it for two weeks to help at work. I find that it helps in the morning, but then my energy tanks in the middle of the afternoon. What I read online said that the effects of it should last 10-15 hours, but I'm not getting close to that. A bit discouraged to be honest.

You have to stay on Amantadine for 2mo to see how well it works. It does not make you hyper or get you high.. your simple just not as tired. Like half way through dishes I needed to sit before, but on Amantadine I can cook, finish dishes, clear the table and still move around for 2 more hours. Stopped my restless legs and tremors

@MSowleyes Wow, that is really encouraging! I know when I start I’ll need to take it everyday - which is no big deal to me - but no one ever mentioned it could take 2mo or so, which is not really that abnormal for some drugs. So thank you so much for taking the time to share! Again, it is encouraging and I’m so happy to hear it has helped you so much! Fingers crossed that I can get similar results! 👍 ❤️
