does anyone ever ask if you’re feeling better right after surgery, a few days after, or even two weeks after? I’ve had all of these happen. I had my first surgery which was ablation- my doctor assumed I would be a new person. i had a friend my last surgery ask the hour after I just woke up if I felt better. then this guy asked me today, day after surgery if I’m feeling better. sometimes I don’t even know how to respond to this. my whole insides were just messed with as I’m on painkillers because I’m unable to walk the right way and it feels like needles are sticking in my stomach and rib cage. so no I’m not all better 🙃

@Belugabear Personally, I felt immense relief as soon as I got out from the anesthetic, and I apparently told my aunt I was feeling better immediately after, but I was mostly out of it at the moment lol

Some people do feel better immediately after, but I certainly didn’t. I get it. It’s annoying. They do mean well, which I’m sure you know! But I totally get being annoyed, the surgery pain sucks!’

@Belugabear I was so dizzy and to the point of throwing up two hours after the post op nurse asked if I was ready to go to the bathroom. I think it’s a ridiculous thing to ask because it’s just been one day! I’m glad that some people feel good within a day or two. I’m still having trouble walking and trouble sitting straight with pain in my abdomen. even had some intense vaginal pain last night. I get people mean well but I wish they just wouldn’t say anything 😅 at least wait when it’s been a week

@MarinaV yeah it’s very frustrating. I’ve never felt better that quickly and have been asked the same thing a number of times. I think they are just so excited for you to feel better that they don’t think about it. I hope you feel better!!!
