Living with DID isn’t easy. People are making it a trend in TikTok. It upsets me so much because it’s not fun. It’s painful. I’m in constant pain. It hurts to see how people make fun of an illness that I have and make it seem cool when in reality it destroys you.

People on tiktok aren't making it a trend, its a bunch of people trying to end stigma. Remember, just because you dont see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. They are still suffering all the same. And if they have a good handle on coping with it, you should be happy for them! This is a really difficult way to live and sometimes its hard to remember the good parts.

We post on tiktok to end stigma- we don't show the painful parts because it would contribute to stigma about our diagnosis. We use it as a way to follow other systems because we need more people who share like experiences! It can be helpful!-🐈

I completely agree it's not a trend, it's a disorder that has truly made my life a million times harder. Having romantic relationships in the past was nearly impossible. Thankfully I found my husband and he is super helpful. Not remembering most of my past is hard especially when friends say things like remember that we did a b and c and I have to genuinely say no... I don't. The memory isn't the only issue and I know that but that's one of the things that make it so hard for me to enjoy life.
