Does anyone else ever experience heavy impulsivity when they’re unmedicated with ADHD?

@CrohnsyPoo what a good method! My method a lot of the time is add everything I want to the cart and just leave it there in an internet browser and then close out of it. Same serotonin rush without the money lost haha

I haven’t had the chance to get medicine for my adhd and honestly I got a shopping habit as well. I would buy a lot of weed and maybe one cartridge and have trouble saving up for stuff, like car repairs and stuff.
So true! For me, this was definitely back when online shopping was really a thing yet....but you just reminded me that when I take my meds too early and stay up too late, the meds wear off and I have had moments of online purc hasing. I have a rule that I'm allowed to add to cart, but not allowed to purchase it until morning. And if I really need it, which I never do, I'll just buy it then. Every time I forget until I see my browser history lol.

@Y0g1 I think I'm going to try your method. Sounds more exhilarating :D
@Y0g1 I completely get that! :D

Omg....yes. I used to find myself at Walmart in the middle of the night with a cart of $200+ random junk that I din't need to buy and hours into shopping ...it was awful to wake up to the next day and I would never return anything. It's terrible, but I learned that I had to just abandon the cart when I would have a split second of coming to my senses. This was well before being medicated. I never impulse buy like this anymore, and I can't believe I used to blow my paychecks so fast on junk I really didnt care much to have. I'm so much more thoughtful about my spending now and actually having a savings.
@CrohnsyPoo ugh I wish I could be in the store. Today it is way too easy to buy things with just a few taps on your screen. I can’t imagine being in a grocery store when hungry though, I know I would spend far too much on food I would never end up eating…
@Y0g1 meant to tag you in my reply!
Even when I’m medicated- if my adhd and my anxiety get to messing around they will spend my money like that *snaps fingers*
Yep constantly but none of the medications work for me so I just have to cope
Yup! But I was also blamed on being bipolar, so I’ve been trying to be medicated with both. No luck
Grocery lists help me too! I also have literally gone to thrift stores (my personal guilty pleasure) and picked out a bunch of shit and just put it all back. I have also been trying to check my bank account more often lmao
I have always been extremely impulsive to the point I would hurt myself if I was thinking it. I have learned I don't let myself go shopping with out a list. I allow my self 1 or 2 items off the list but I can't go over the limit I set myself at first it's easier to do 5 and work your way down. I still fulfill that urge without breaking the bank.
meee i have a very addictive personality! it could also be part of the 'tism too /lh
I have a shopping problem. A caffeine problem. I will get addicted to the next new thing, be consumed by it obsessively, then move on to the next big thing
Yup all the time! I have a horrid shopping problem so it definitely does not help.
