okay, so i kinda feel alone in this but i know i’m not the only one. i feel like a lot of people have the typical seasonal depression like in the winter. but i get it in the summer. i go out with one friend for less than an hour and want to sleep for an eternity after. i’m so confused, summer used to be my favorite thing. id go to the lake, and hang out with my friends but now i just go to work and home over and over. i feel like my life is going downhill and i just want a fix. idk if i should change my medication or leave it. i’m currently on 200mg zoloft but idk. please if anyone else deals w this tell me what you guy do to not feel so shitty:(

@walletonalanyard yeah of say continue to do that. I know it's hard. But maybe in that instance you'll find a breakthrough. And slowly but surely get used to actually having better movements in these ruts.

Depression can alter circadian rhythms (our biological clock) so seasonal changes can amp up symptoms. With longer and brighter days of summer, the body normally will sleep less hours and produce less melatonin (the body's sleep chemical). It could be that your body is not getting enough quality sleep or that your body's circadian rhythms are off to where the are producing too much melatonin. Try to get longer sleep at night. Nap during the day if you're able or need to. And try purchasing a seasonal depression lap (super inexpensive can get off Amazon). This can help your body slowly build up circadian rhythms to adjust to summer.

i completely know how you feel. sometimes it feels like you get so excited for summer because you think your seasonal depression will get better, and then u still feel like ass and it sucks. my best advice for you is to try to force yourself to do things you genuinely like to do and after a while if it still isn’t helping i would recommend therapy or talking to your psychiatrist. sending love<333

@iamnicole i’ve tried going out with my friends or going to hammock, but afterwards i’m wiped it takes so much out of me and i just feel like i’m in a loop. i appreciate your suggestion though<3

Hey ☺️ well have you ever instead of just going home, actually went to go do something that you usually enjoy? And how did that make you feel?
