Yep. Anymore I do my best to tell my mind "I'm going to ignore this suffering and focus on something I CHOOSE instead". It usually speeds up the process of getting out of that feeling, though it doesn't totally prevent it from happening.
This usually happens to me when I’m triggered. Journaling and cognitive therapy has helped me a lot over the years. PTSD is the devil and you never know when it’s going to creep up. But there’s different tools to help minimize as well as calm the triggers and flashbacks 🤗

For me it usually ends up being a smell that triggers the dread. I started carrying a stachel of lavender to snap my brain out of it when it happens and it works pretty good
