If your insurance will cover it, ask about a continuous glucose monitor... it checks your sugar every couple of minutes with the finger sticks. This provided me with really solid information about how my body reacts to different foods and allowed me to respond quickly with adjustments to medication dosages. If your sugar has been high, that can lead to the dehydration you mentioned as your body is trying to remove the sugar through the kidneys. This is why we feel thirsty when our sugars are up. Take a breathe, know you can do this, keep up with your care providers, and know there are people here for you.
