Hey, so I was diagnosed with APS earlier this year based on one blood test that showed elevated antibodies. I got a second opinion from a hematologist who basically said that because I've never had a blood clot or miscarriage, I don't have APS. I'm still second guessing this because of the original blood test. Should I look into further testing to be sure? I don't like living in fear of potential clots.

X3 miscarriages but 8 clots at once and a positive Lupus anticoagulant test to get the APS diagnosis had to have another positive test 12 weeks later which I did. It took 8 blood clots and a D-dimer of 1065 to get a diagnosis as was never investigated after miscarriages. Gynecologist and heamatogly also need to be reminded that women can be APS positive without being pregnant...

I also have APS. It was discovered after I had a solid clot from my ankle to my groin and bi-lateral saddle PEs - all at once. I also had a hard time conceiving and staying pregnant (took a shot every week). Looking back, we now know it was due to APS, but we didn't know it at that time.

I found out I have APS because of a miscarriage. I was told I have it, but don't meet clinical requirements to be treated for it during pregnancy (3+ miscarriages or a history of clots)

I suggest you see a different hematologist. The most dangerous thing I’ve encountered in all of this has been medical professionals who think they are never wrong.
