A couple of weeks ago, I was supposed to have surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome. I had a terrible reaction to anesthesia and ended up in the ICU for 2 days on a ventilator. So I'm not to keen on going under general anesthesia anytime soon. I've been hearing stories of people having carpal tunnel surgery with just local anesthesia. I'm wondering if anyone could share their experiences with this. How painful is it to have this surgery while awake? would you recommend it?
