Can Bipolar 2 Turn into Bipolar 1?

Bipolar 2 can turn into bipolar 1 if a patient experiences a full blown manic episode. Then one you have bipolar 1 it doesn’t go back to 2

what my psych told me was if someone has a full blown manic episode that means they were really always type 1. but bipolar is from what i’ve researched something that develops over time, so technically i want to say yes? i’ve been having worse and worse manic episodes so i wonder if i’m gonna get diagnosed type I
