I have been told I have the worst case of anxiety that my consular has seen so I definitely relate to this I usually have to talk it out otherwise I get stuck in my own head or writing it out
Talking both with my mom, counselor and psychiatrist. I have anxiety meds now I take as needed. And recently changed my meds for depression so far so good.

If it's extremely bad for me and I'm considering the hospital, I sometimes smoke pot and take a long nap or rest. I usually don't feel like I'm in such an extreme position anymore after that. Pot definitely had its downsides but I experienced trauma last time I went to the hospital so i'll do what I can to stay out. Other times doing something like having a simple podcast in the background does enough to distract me from negative wandering/intrusive thought. I also adopted a dog at some point to help me feel I had a reason to come home every day. Definitely not foolproof but worked well enough for me. She was 7 when I got her and the sweetest girl. Currently adjusting to a puppy for the first time I rehomed from a cousin and I'll just say I think I'll always prefer older rescues. They can be kind of set in their ways at a certain point so you know what to expect and can pick a breed that matches your lifestyle. Video games are nice esp when Im working on an achievement. Skyrim actually helped me keep going or at least tolerate my emotions better when I was in a super bad spot. My weird coping skills are stuff I use ON TOP OF therapy and meds and obv not a good idea for anyone. Not trying to give advice but rather show there can be more alternative coping styles that you might not find on an online list.
Cry and let it all out, only thing that’s helped me these last few days x
Read or sleep
Can you multitask? I like to work and have something on the side to lower anxiety/ stimming. Like writing a paper and sketching or coloring. Make a presentation look like walking in a museum.
@NonbinarySlytherin other than being on my phone I don't have anything here at work. I think I want to bring some word searches or a book in too. I'm not really sure what all I'm allowed to bring though
Puzzles (something that stimulates your brain but you’re also using your hands), coloring books, putting in your headphones and listening to a YouTuber you like, writing or journaling but EXACTLY how you feel (even if you literally write down, “I don’t know what to say,” or “I feel like fucking hell”) going for a walk by yourself and focusing on your surroundings (the trees, plants or flowers, the lines on the road, the color of the cars) but always be SAFE. Hope this helps.
Go to sleep or vent
@FS_cookielove sometimes me too but if I'm at work or doing something else I can't
@PurplePenguinsPolka can vent*
@PurplePenguinsPolka you can't vent through text. I also have mental breakdowns in the bathroom at work for like 15 minutes. Like full on crying. Sometimes so long the lights go out
