god if anyone is willing to talk about it, I'm seeing a gyno Thursday for an issue I've had for years and I'm so close to canceling because I'm afraid she's not going to take me seriously or think I'm gross or stupid and say there's nothing she can do.

Gyno’s are used to what we think are “gross” and “stupid”! This area of the body is very taboo to many, but I’m sure the doctor has seen it all before! Try not to let your nerves get the best of you, it’s extremely brave to actually reach out and get help/assistance, and I know you’ll be able to get the help you need.

Definitely go. I have social anxiety but my gyno place is really understanding. They're used to this stuff probably!

i don't personally see a gyno, but most of my family has to because of a condition (not entirely sure of the name, just some symptoms) that runs on my mom's side. at first they were all the same way, but i was there to experience the relief they all felt when they had help to manage their symptoms. gynos know how the patients feel, so they're usually super patient and gentle with you. and honestly, if it doesn't go 100% how you expect it to, they all say the relief is SOOOO worth it. and trust me- even being a woman and hearing some of their symptoms, i was like eughhhh... that sounds NOT GOOD. zero judgement from the doctor, just genuine help. my mom always requests male gynos because they're usually gentler- i've heard a lot of people say the same.

I’ve gone to the gynecologist so many times this year it’s annoying. Go to your appointment and address your concerns. If she says anything horrible to u report her and get a new gyno. But please don’t ignore your health

Gyno have saw and hurd it all. That's their profession. Go to your appointment, walk in with postive thought and a smile. Breath in and out, and try yout best to relax your body. Always know, YOU GOT THIS. Your mind likes to Play games, so thinking postive over everything, will trick your mind, to think postive more often. GOOD LUCK! 👍

I am more than willing to talk! I’ve been through many a Gyno and I work in the OR and see lots of GYN issues. Either way they will and SHOULD take you serious no matter how “gross” or “stupid” an issue is. No issue is gross or stupid and is worth looking into :)

Definitely go. If this is your first time going to a gyno, write down the questions you want to ask so you don't forget. If it isn't your first time, ask yourself if it's general anxiety about the medical concern or if it's the specific gynecologist. Don't go back to doctors that make you uncomfortable because of how they treat you. That said, my gynecologist offers Valium for the appointments to help patients relax. Note: I'm a trans man and my gynecologist is in a transgender specific clinic so their policies may differ from other offices. But that's for the regular appoinments; I don't know if it would apply or be practical for your situation. There is no harm in asking. And most of all, health professionals are not allowed to reveal your health information without your consent.

@jam064 And if she for whatever reason believes she can't do anything, ask for a referral. If you feel it necessary, in ANY medical situation, ask for a referral and/or seek out a second opinion. Your health is important.

I’ve been going since I was 14, I’m 23 now. None of my gynos; male or female has made me feel bad for the issues I had. And, like what others has said already. They have probably seen and heard worse. They’re professionals, it’s not as scary as it seems. Good luck 💕

Message me if you like. But yes, you should go no matter what. I had my first appointment a few weeks ago and was so so scared that they'll think I'm weird or something but they were so nice and seemed to care about any little issue I had

can i ask what the issue is? i can't imagine a normal gyno would be grossed out because i'm sure she's seen grosser and i'm sure she's heard stupider ::P
