I'm so frustrated. I have been dealing with severe depression and even thoughts of suicide for weeks because of the amount of stomach and back pain I'm in every day, with an emphasis on "I just feel like things get worse everyday". everyone in my life from my support group to medical professionals have brushed me off by saying "it will get better." I just got back from ER when I finally snapped and I found of that I have a severe kidney infection that has progressed so much its life threatening. it was literally getting worse everyday and people just brushed it off because I have chronic pain. thoughts for others? I need to feel less alone and frustrated

Well I personally do not think “it will get better” has to be a negative thing because hope is one thing that keeps us going. In fact this saying actually helps me get through the day because there a people and days out there that make living worth it! But the fact that people did not take you seriously is a problem. It’s inappropriate for people whose job is to help people ignore and neglect the problems at hand. Of course doctors and science isn’t perfect and mistakes can happen but if possible o would suggest seeking for new doctors if possible. There are amazing doctors out there who love their job and providing as much help as possible. Don’t give up! You got this!
Wow that question you posed is really powerful. I can't even tell what exactly is wrong sometimes, I just know that I feel bad. But with the way medical treatment works, I have to say something specific to get treatment

I’ve been there. I put off going to the ER for stomach pain because everyone told me it would go away and it ended up being diverticulitis. It infected my appendix and had to be removed. Later, when I’d go to ER for help with acute pain again, they’d treat me like I’m drug seeking. Many times I’ve thought I should be able to handle things and avoided the ER. One time I ended up needing massive kidney stones surgically removed. Another time I had gallstones stuck in a bike duct causing inflammation and needed my gallbladder removed. How do you listen to a body that has gone through so much medical trauma? I don’t know. But I’m right there with you.
