Don't pay attention or focus on something that can't get you killed

If you have something you have to do socially sometimes practicing it in your head or in front of a mirror a thousand times can help. Or even imagine the situation going really well. Also sometimes if you have to go somewhere scary then you can kinda go in advance and just look around and then leave. So knowing what it looks like can decrease anxiety.

I know it sounds kinda funny, but a book that has helped me with my anxiety and social anxiety is called "the subtle art of not giving a f*ck" and it uses harsh words to lay out what I needed to hear at the time. It may sound like a negative mindset to some, but when im in an obsessive spiral of thinking "what will happen/ what will they think" and I just say f*ck it and do it the way I want, it fills me with a very freeing feeling and a but of confidence. Like fake the confidence until you convince yourself that you are actually confident then other people will perceive you as confident? Just my two cents... Sorry if i come across as rude or anything, this mindset has really helped me🤗

@LadyZephyr That sounds great, I might check that out! To add to this: exposure therapy can be very helpful when done gradually and consistently
