My anxiety is so overwhelming presently that I cannot function or be productive. The more I try to accomplish the more overwhelmed I become. Then I get to a point of feeling immobilized. I can't complete one simple task. Can anyone please share words of encouragement and support? I would really appreciate it šŸ˜

Thank you! Your comment gave me a great idea to help me focus on what I was able to do. When I am doubting myself I'm going to make a list of accomplishments for that day. šŸ’•

I can totally relate. Sometimes I just have to give myself permission to take some time to do nothing. It might feel stressful because you have so much to do, but taking time to rest and calm my anxiety helps me better be able to get things done. Then I start with the very smallest tasks because accomplishing things releases dopamine and helps me feel encouraged to complete the larger tasks. I hope you can find some relief ā¤ļø

I totally understand. Sometimes when Iā€™m in this space I try to take a few deep breaths (it sounds cheesy but breathing exercises can help a lot) and brain dump everything I think I need to do and how Iā€™m feeling about it in a journal. Then I will try and choose just one activity to focus on, even if itā€™s small- in fact sometimes that helps. Choosing something too big can make me go back to square one of paralyzing panic mode. Or maybe take a break from trying to ā€œget things doneā€ and do something thatā€™s just for yourself for a bit. Like watching a show or browsing the internet without feeling guilty about taking a break. Then maybe turning on music when you are finished and returning to that one specific task. Iā€™m sorry youā€™re in this place and I hope it gets better. No matter what tomorrow is a new day and I bet youā€™re doing better than you think you are. Those negative thoughts can viciously make our anxiety deepen it feels. Good luck!

I also find lately that my anxiety has me so overwhelmed. My house is a MESS and my husband helps where and when he can but he works full time to keep the bills paid since I also canā€™t work. The key is to not overwork yourself. You wanna push slightly out of your comfort zone but not enough that any progress you make reverts back. Some days are just really bad days and itā€™s just something to accept. Some days all you have the energy to do is to get out of bed, eat and maybe take a shower. And thatā€™s okay. Take reward in what you DID do that day and donā€™t focus on other things that didnā€™t get done. Trust me Iā€™m such a OCD perfectionist so sometimes it eats at me to do more than what I am doing but I have to just do whatā€™s best sometimes. Just focus on the little victories and your mental health will improve. ā¤ļø
