Not quite sure what to do with this lol. I just downloaded this app today. I was hoping to connect with somebody who understands or has advice because it's been getting worse recently. I'm a 28 year old female and I was diagnosed with anxiety, depression and Irritable Bowel Syndrome at 18 years old. I just recently was diagnosed with PTSD due to leaving an emotionally abusive relationship last year. Ever since then, my IBS specifically has gotten worse. Anxiety and stress tends to trigger it for me the most. I have IBS-C, which is constipation dominant. I've had yo completely cut red meat, pork, dairy, or any high fat foods from my diet. I have to eat a high fiber diet and chug water bottles all day to stay regular. Lean chicken like grilled chicken or fish is my go to for protein. Most of the time, I go pretty regularly but there are times where it'll flare up and I'll be suffering. It tends to flare up really badly during my time of month. Sometimes I have to rely on 3 ducosate sodium tablets in order to go. Anyone have any advice for me besides what I'm already doing? Maybe something I haven't tried yet? Should I see a nutritionist or specialist for advice? My regular doctor just suggested Metamucil. Caffeine, weirdly enough, is also a trigger no matter how much water I drink with it. oluble fiber tends to be what helps the most for me. Too much insoluble fiber like salads are a trigger. Thank you in advance for any advice!

Magnesium citrate pills or up & up produra probiotics at target every night work very well for constipation. So does fiber one cereal in the morning followed by a cup of liquid.

I’ve had IBS C since I was 10, and I definitely recommend seeing a GI doctor.

I have ptsd/anxiety-induced IBS, too. One strange thing that worked for me on my doctors recommendation was over the counter peppermint oil capsules. Also, managing the ptsd and anxiety is important too if that’s the underlying cause!

Oh! I had IBS-C for a long time! After Expensive prescription medication failed me, I actually used the Renew Life - 30 day cleanse and it completely saved me. I can only pray it will work for you. You can easily buy it online or in health food stores 👍 Good luck!
Milk of magnesia is the most gentle on your body and it worked for me numerous times. Drink a lot of water with it!
it doesn’t say on your profile so idk if you are on any meds for your depression/anxiety/ptsd but that might help since that’s a trigger for you. if you already are taking some type of psychotropics, then maybe your doc could increase the dose
I have ibs-c predominantly thought it does turn to ibs-d every now and then. Methylcellulose (citrucel brand name) helps out a lot with the urge of using th bathroom and to soften it, I use miralax.
I have the same thing! I get really worried most of the time because I feel so bloated but I can’t go. I take natural herbs to use the bathroom. I use Senna and senna teas. Which work well for me. Only drink one cup because it makes you go (alot) it usually takes 7-15 hours to kick in but once it does you’ll feel much better.
*Soluble fiber
