I have a very small attention span. I would like advice on how to make my attention span longer so when I do things like make games(my hobby), I can stay on a single project for more than a couple of hours. I have literally never been able to finish a project and my attention span is why. I love making games, I just don't have the attention span to do so.

Not programming specifically, I'm pretty good with programming. It's just everything else is more of a struggle. Like I'm good at everything else, I just have a lack of motivation and lack of attention.

but i still struggle with what you do, have many ideas about projects and never even at least build a plan around them or write my ideas down. my mind is a fleeting waterfall of good ideas only to be lost to distractions and dopamine sources

how are we expected to build quality software for ourselves and others if our mind and body is not properly built?
once you understand these concepts, concentration will begin to build. maybe not with programming, but in the environment you establish for yourself, it will build upon itself.
i understand. I deal with the same issue I have not written a real line of code in the past 2-3 semesters. it's that bad. the best we can do is try to complete coursework/employment the best we can, and try and find times for mindfulness. I have heard the 25/5 minute rule is a good 25 minutes of work 5 minutes of rest repeat. I have yet to implement it, however, just this winter break I've had an awakening when it comes to myself and my(our) human condition beyond ADHD. not to get all spiritual but we live in a universe of all possibilities, and while making a project seems daunting it is entirely within our reach. we just have to ask ourselves are we providing our bodies and our mind with the right environment to succeed. That can vary anywhere from quality of sleep, amount of physical activity, frequency of mindfulness practices, nutrition, coping with trauma, medications both legal and "illegal" (FK THE WAR ON DRUGS), and many more I could go on...
