I recently got a P-EBT card and my dad was excited for us to go shopping and buy a bunch of keto stuff for us to eat. When we got to the register, the card didn't work and he got mad and began ranting about having to pay for food that was supposed to go on the card. I kept apologizing and even convinced him to return some of the groceries we didn't need. After a while he noticed that I was really unresponsive to things - because I get really high anxiety when people are angry for any reason around me - and began saying things like, "we can go get those things when you fix your card," and "I'm not mad at you I just got frustrated about the card," and "it's not a big deal." Then he began talking about funny things and messing with me by poking me and trying to tickle me. Even though being touched when I'm in a bad mood and anyone touching my face/head period makes me angry, I know he was trying to make me feel better or distracted me. Of course I just feel more guilty that his efforts didn't work though. I know he's not mad and I know that it's not really a big deal but my anxiety is still so high after we got home that I don't know what to do. I locked myself in my room so I don't accidentally cry in front of someone, but just thinking like that makes me feel over dramatic. I just hate being like this.

I know the feeling all to well unfortunately. Any time anyone gets angry around me, it triggers something in me and then I either get mad, get sad, walk away, or just cry. My bf seems to get frustrated when he tries to make me feel better and in turn makes me feel like crap.

You can even buy slim fast keto bars and shake mix.

Im sorry, i know exactly what that is like. My anxiety isn't as bad as it use to be but i do get put in a funk when people start getting mad around me . Have you ever heard of CBT(cognitive behavior thearpy) ? It's really good and helps you learn how to handle your emotions when you start to feel overwhelmed! Although it may not help everyone- it is still very insightful and def. Worth checking out if you haven't before!

@Taylor128 No I've never heard of it, I'll do some research on it when I can and see if it's in the cards for me.

@Exrs Anytime someone tries to make me feel better after upsetting it just makes me feel worse. I've even cried during a nice day trip out of town when I was really depressed from family problems. I wish people better understand why we get like that.

@CharlieAlien me too. Everything can be going great and one little thing or one ounce of frustration sets me off. I hate it bc I ruin a good day for everyone. I get upset at them being upset bc it upsets me..... stupid as f but we do what we do I guess. :(

Can he even legally use it? You're not being overdramatic for reacting to something that wasn't your fault in the first place.

@WhimsicalMushroom he wasn't the one using it, sorry for wording it wrong. I meant he was excited for me to buy food. And even though some was meals for everyone, he really wanted me to use it to buy snacks and quick meals for me to eat when he doesn't cook.
