I need help figuring out how to improve my work/life balance. I am super introverted, and when you mix that with my sensory issues I REALLY need time to myself frequently. problem is I've got a full time job, as well as an etsy shop to run, and when I finally get off for the day I have a VERY social 9/yo stepson to keep up with, and a boyfriend who's been needing help with health issues (both mental and physical) which has been keeping me up late, making it harder to manage my crohns, so I'm frequently sore and nauseous. mornings might be a good chance to at least give my sensory issues a break, but my bf and I drive to work together because we work in the same building, and he has adhd, so he cant stand dead silence, I'm getting maybe two minutes worth of genuine calm at a time throughout today. I'm barely managing everything well enough to keep functioning and I know this isnt sustainable, but I dont know what to do.

Hear plugs are neat to use. I ended up stop working. Been an introvert and ASD with health issues I didn't last long in work field

Yeahhhhh i feel you on the social burn out…. I also work a full time job and that’s not sustainable for my functionality level tbh

I agree that you need to schedule time for yourself. I would talk to your bf about the car rides and ask him to listen to music or something else in headphones at a reasonable volume, since he can't stand silence - him needing noise can be very self-contained. Tell him you're at risk of burning out and you need some quiet time. I'm really concerned because I'm also very introverted (the most introverted person I've ever met in fact) and if I didn't have time to myself, I would literally need to be hospitalized. I hope you don't get to this point.

Schedule me time, even if that means cutting time elsewhere, before you burnout. Also, maybe some earplugs for the drive? I tried loops on our vacation drive and they gave me instant peace, mind and body

For me I put myself on a schedule
