i used to drink a minty stomach calmer, similar to tums i think, before eating anything i thought would upset me or get stuck in my chest; it wasn’t great kinda like a chalky minty shake but it was only a couple sips and it helped. now i’m too frustrated by other symptoms to keep that up but it did work.

Yes! I do have a diagnosed Ed, but I feel so restricted because everything comes back up and causes pain :( I take omeprazol daily and it helps, but the symptoms persist

Yes! Oh my gosh! I think sometimes my eating disorder will try to excuse restriction because of um GERD but the problem is that restricting for too long will make me too hungry and then binging becomes a risk and that is WAY worse for my GERD. Having GERD and an eating disorder for me means making sure I am eating many times throughout the day, even if it is hard but it is better for my body and my GERD

How do you reply to comments on here lol.. tums and Pepto is not good for someone with more chronic digestive issues such GERD you can try Gaia which is a natural version of tums. Taking these two even though as you suggested not everyday can have backfire symptoms. Licorice, slippery elm, and aloe vera are also helpful for acid reflux. Make sure if you take a probiotic that it has both lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidobacterium lactis which help control acid and help the lining in the stomach. If mine flares bad I eat like oatmeal and bananas and soup/bone broth as well as cooling foods such as cucumber (you can also eat papaya I want to add it in my diet) or yogurt and ice cream. In regards to supplements I take digestive enzymes which intergrade ginger and papaya and a probiotic. I read online that collagen type ll can help repair the gut lining. Inulin or chicory root also helpful to digestive health. Lions mane mushroom (and Reishi) is another and it's also made into coffees but without coffee (Lions mane is made into "coffee")

Pantoprazole helped me a lot when my GERD was bad, and I was able to wean off of it over time. I also changed my diet a lot

i’m so sorry about that! is it just that your avoiding food because of pain or other reasons because (although i’m not a doctor/therapist), i think disordered eating is a lot about a certain restrictive mindset
