I was curious if anyone finds that stress can affect their pain levels? Yesterday I was puppy sitting for my brother and sister-in-law since neither were home. I had nobody but their pets around, and spent the entire day just watching House, letting the pup out to potty, and some sleeping. For the first time in I don’t know how long I wasn’t feeling pain. Then I get to work this morning, and am going home tonight where there are more people and my body started hurting again. Anyone else get a flare when feeling stressed?

it really stinks sometimes too! The only pain I felt on Tuesday was my typical pain in my left foot. And that’s because I’ve had surgery on both feet but the left gives me the most problems. That pain isn’t a mind and body connection. Oh, and the psoriatic arthritis is in my foot now as confirmed via X-ray and it’s also fractured recently. So the left foot is week.

Oh 100% stress has been proven to increase your pain. Your emotions are heightened and your body reacts to it. There are a lot of stress relief skills you can learn through DBT & CBT to help manage and there’s tons of books on pain management I have to find the titles I’ve read but you’re completely valid and it’s great to listen to your body and what it’s telling you

It certainly does. Anytime I get stressed or mad, I can expect to have a flare-up soon after. I found that mindfulness meditation helps with my stress. You can find guided meditations on YouTube. They're very relaxing, you'll love them!
