to preface, my partner (who i have been with for almost four years now) has a career path that requires him to travel with each opportunity. every single time he has to go away, i have had reasons to stay in our hometown. this year, for the second summer in a row, he needs to travel across the country and several time zones. the anxiety i have over not being in close proximity with him and something terrible happening to him is borderline debilitating. has anyone else experienced something similar? what did you do to ease these fears or manage them so that it was not a thought every waking moment?

Oh wow, that can feel sooo scary!! I sometimes feel really scared when my husband is not with me for an extended period of time. But those times are an opportunity for me to face those insecure feelings and work through them with my therapist because these feelings have so much to tell me about myself.

I'd find a new hobby, something to keep yourself busy and happy while not being with him

Definitely. I found it helps me a lot when my partner texts me throughout the day. Like "I'm driving now... I got here fine" or "I'm going to bed so don't worry if I don't answer for a while". If you can talk to him and let him know that you are having anxiety about being separated he will probably be willing to do little things to help you feel better

Hello! Separation anxiety is pretty common I thinkšŸ˜… we tend to over think and worry of the worst outcomes. It also shows that we may be too codependent upon someone. May be time for both partners to step out of their comfort zone. Try planning one day a week where you both are doing something separate, and the. Ext night is date night where you talk about your experience šŸ„°

Yes I have had similar issues everytime my partner has a family event with drinking and partying and I'm not with with him I feel like something bad is gonna happen to him or he is going to be unfaithful and it's really hard for me because I have been betrayed alot in my life and I don't think I could take another blow like that especially when I let my guard down for him.
