The things that's been the most helpful for me is always having something in my hands to fidget with and always keeping my nails short and filled so they're rounded and not sharp. Still have some scabs but not as many as I used to always have.

Another thing you could possibly do is fidget with something. I personally like ripped jeans because they are stylish and you can also play with the strands of fabric hanging off of where the hole is.
