22F, never been on statins, total cholesterol of about 280. Had advanced lab testing done through a lipid specialist. he is recommending Crestor. Has anyone taken crestor? I know people my age aren’t usually on statins, looking for some input. Thanks (:

I've taken both Crestor and Lipitor and had side effects with Lipitor but I had good luck with Tricor (fenofibrate). It also helped to lower my astronomical triglycerides. (28F but I started taking it around 21.)

I started having symptoms with Crestor after 4 years! Doctor took me off of it to see if that was it. It was!! Now, I’m on pravastatin with no problems for 2 years now. 🤷♀️

I take Lipitor, which is also a kind of statin. I started taking it around the age of 40. It lowered my cholesterol levels, which other things like sports and healthy food didn't unfortunately. It was important for me to start taking medication because my doctor told me that high levels of cholesterol could cause many complications.
