Does anyone struggle for the feeling of being numb and not caring but also getting too worried and stress about everything. How can I feel both at the same time?

I feel that a lot since I have the combination of Bipolar, ADHD, and PTSD. There's a few things that help me with the anxiety, the first is trying to identify why I'm anxious, bc I could be stressed, or triggered, or worried about someone etc. Then if it's out of my control I do my best to ground myself, and go for a walk or read, and I remind myself that it's okay to be anxious, but I can't control other people or other things. If I'm worried about someone, I'll check in with them, just a "hey I'm thinking about you, I hope you're doing well today" is sometimes enough to help. And then I'm I'm stressed about getting things done, I drink some water and make a detailed to do list, and I like to group tasks by either time length or effort, and put stars next to the 3 most time sensitive. Usually once I get the ball rolling my anxiety lessens. Also, it's important to remember with mental health and coping mechanisms, reducing the shitty feeling makes it easier to handle, and that's the main goal. For depression, I'm not so great with tips for that but if you're medicated and on an SSRI that isn't working well enough, talk to your Dr about a different medication group.

I actually started reading a book that delves into why depression and anxiety co-occur when they seem to be polar opposites. So far I've got that it has to do with how those feelings are created. The same part of the brain that controls emotion, stress, and pain also controls depression and anxiety and it kind of works like an autoimmune disease (if you have one, chances are you have another one because it's all part of the same system. If your immune system is already attacking one part of the body, why wouldn't it attack another since it's already proven itself incapable of telling apart healthy cells from invasive ones). I see depression and anxiety as side effects of something else, typically stress. Which makes sense because stress, depression, and anxiety all come from the same part of the brain.

@Yenn I usually just shower, and sing my lungs out. The song “Numb little bug” is my go to It helps to remind myself that everything is temporary and the feeling will eventually pass
