How do you deal with irrational thoughts and delusions?

Getting the meds right #1. Other than that, a lot of therapy while I’m doing good, sort of like strengthening the barricade for when psychotic symptoms come back. Obviously it gets really difficult. If it ever gets on top of you, if you feel completely unsure of what is reality and what isn’t, just go to a hospital. For me also what helps fight it is priorities, what is most important to me. Also, as awful as it sounds, as humiliating as it feels, tell someone. Build relationships so you have people that you can trust to talk to. That is very difficult but if you ever can, go that route.

I try to separate reality from my delusions it's very hard to do but at times I pinch myself in the legs to get grounded but it's very difficult to do I usually take my medicine really religiously and I go to church

It depends on the nature of the thoughts / delusions. One big step is recognizing them as such through reality checking, acceptance, etc. and then by acknowledging them you can allow them to pass like clouds in the sky. Maybe not helpful with more consuming delusions or when it's difficult to discern reality.

I try to stay out of touch with them.
